I tried one at the last meeting at Nelson on a sidecar and it worked very well - got consistent 99.4 crossings.
They are available from the SNZ office and cost the same as the TX-8000.
Their transmit power is slightly less than the TX-8000, so they do have to be mounted correctly - ie not more than 200 mm from the track surface and no metallic oblects in the signal path.
The battery run time is a little shorter at about 8 days ( a TX-8000 will go for about 10 days with a new battery )
